Sea Hawk

The Ruahine Sea Hawk (formerly made by Q-Kayaks) is a sea kayak that’s been designed to go fast and still give plenty of stability in rough conditions. It’s long and straight hull with a high cutting bow allow the kayak to slice through waves and maintain a constant forward speed, especially when loaded with gear. A handy third compartment behind the cockpit can be reached while paddling for all those necessary bits needed during the day.

Fully constructed of carbon/ kevlar throughout this model weighs only 22 kg’s. The Sea Hawk has a lower deck profile, a one size “fits all” seat. Other features include: new paddle rescue system, foreward deck paddle holder and a more roomy cockpit area for your legs. The Sea Hawk gives maximum stability in the open sea and handles the wind and surf like a breeze.

Tim’s note “Max and Margaret from Q-Kayaks designed this sea kayak. They are now at the stage in life where they want to enjoy their paddling and spend less time in the workshop so they have asked me to continue the tradition and keep building this awesome yak. Cheers guys.”

Demo Kayaks – I hope a Sea Hawke demo kayak available for test paddles in Tauranga. Please contact me to arrange a time.

Ordering – I work on a 3 week turnaround. In many cases I will be able to supply before the three weeks is up however, these are a hand-made product so they do take time to produce and we often have multiple orders in the system. I will advise you of an eta at the time of ordering.

Shipping and Pickup– I am based in Mount Maunganui and kayaks can be picked up directly from my workshop. Shipping throughout NZ and the world and will be charged at cost. Please ask me for an estimate.

Colours – all kayaks come with a white hull. This looks smart and doesn’t show up as many scratches caused by rocks. The deck can be either a single, block colour (great if you want to display sponsors logo’s) or your choice of two colours that are faded together. Please note that the colours are mixed in with the resin at the time of laying up the kayak so not everything is possible. At the time of ordering I will discuss the options with you and make recommendations if necessary.
